I’ll try and get a shot of the camera bike if it’s not been disassembled (it’s not my bike). Yes, I stopped into Norcal Bikes briefly on Friday afternoon looking for Glenn who did the Specialized Vegas Ride. I was wearing Panache Houndstooth socks on Saturday. I was amazed that a few people recognized me during the ride… “Hey Velodramatic, you cost me $3000″ (in Rapha kit) was the funniest line.
No, I knew I’d have all I could handle with the climbing so I didn’t bother with the extra weight and left the camera in the car.
It’s tougher now for me to do both. I’m either riding or I’m shooting; one or the other on a ride like that.
The wind was crazy, I’m sure it must have blown one or two riders over. At one point on Coleman Valley Road it was whistling through the fencing like we were on an expedition to the South Pole. I was glad to get inland and out of that gale. I’ll try and post a commentary tonight on my experience.
Thanks, saw a poor lady get blown over as she tried to stop on 1. She was ok but the sound always gives me a sick feeling. Anyway it was a fantastic day.
Tried to send you an email but it kicked back. Wanted to say thanks for the company up Coleman Valley. I was suffering- it was good to talk with someone.
Great site! A new bookmark.
Talking to you definitely helped me too. Made me forget the paralyzing knot in my lower back. That was some wind. Glad you’ll be tuning in… we’ve got a great bunch of regulars.
Michael,
Have you seen the new Arcteryx line? http://veilance.arcteryx.com/product.aspx
Looking forward to seeing this stuff on the shelves… if anyone will carry it.

No censorship, just housekeeping. If you caught the comments, Slate Olson, Rapha’s US GM thought it was hilarious. I thought everyone that needed the laugh had probably seen it. I don’t typically embed content from elsewhere I don’t control… so the joke was good while it lasted.
Michael,
When am I gonna see a review of the Rapha Rain Jacket you promised me?
I need to justify buying a $325 rainjacket to my wife and a review from you just might cinch the deal!
I wanted to thank you for the effort you put into the blog – wonderful reading about a fellow cyclist’s (and fellow photographer’s) travails.
I’ve been a long time reader who came to your blog via a review of an early Rapha product (been a long time Rapha addict as well) – very glad I did.
If you’re ever in Melbourne, Australia let me know; I’ll show you some rides!
Cheers,
Kim.

I’ve got a couple of pieces from Outlier to review, hopefully before the end of another busy month.
Random question. What gear do you use to take your pictures? Looks freaking awesome!
Another great posting
Couple of items:
1-post a shot of the camera bike you created…love to see it.
2-think I saw you twice at GranFondo, once in NorCal Bikes and on rode wearing your argyle socks??
Bollo,

Too funny…but it is great gear. Anyway, thought GranFonda was fantastic. My first ride in that area. Highway 1 was amazing, and that wind!!
Did you get to shoot anything this weekend? I did a little and it was a great excuse to grab breath on climb after 1.
No, I knew I’d have all I could handle with the climbing so I didn’t bother with the extra weight and left the camera in the car.

Hadn’t seen this line, wow, some nice pieces at premium prices (and my favorite, black). Like you I’m not sure who will carry it, near me.

Love your site. Congratulations.
What happened to the “Epic” cartoon from last week? Censorshepic?
