Michael,

I've always been thrilled that your website brought my two favorite pastimes, cycling and photography, together so elegantly. I've recently become enamored with the apparent video capabilities of the 5DII as a result of various clips I've seen around the web. Thank you for such an in depth explanation of your experience and what it takes to make full use of what the 5DII has to offer in the video department.

[...] Velodramatic: a Cycling Photography website featuring racers, riders and roads, has recently added DSLR Video to their portfolio & services. Finally, joining the craze of DSLR filmmaking, Michael Robertson recently wrote an article, "The Thrill of Getting In Over Your Head Shooting Video." In the article he discusses the hybrid revolution and convergence from stills to video using the Canon 5DMKII. See below for Behind The Scenes images of Michael out in the field using Zacuto's Z-finder V2 and DSLR Gunstock Shooter: The Marksmen.
Michael

an impressive "How to do it" with the 5d 11 and the Zacuto rig. As with everything you do, you do it in depth, no stone unturned in the quest for getting it just so.
The low angle images were superb, dodgy with the camera so close to the ground, something in the hot shoe to give a warning of any contact might work?
Great read and as always user friendly, techie but understandable, the sound will come, next time.
All the very best and keep pushing the envelope.

Thanks for sharing a bit of your process. I've always been curious but never enough of a camera nerd to ask the right questions.

Michael, an ace post - gives some real insight into getting a good setup for the 5DMkII. Looks like the Zacuto did a stellar job too.

I remember seeing Vincent's Reverie film for the first time and thinking the game has just changed...... the 5DMkII and the Red have just blown apart video in the last couple of years, and I love it!

Best,
